Brats and drunken pepper sandwich - OpenEats2 Dev
Someone once described this as carnival food. I tend to agree. It is cheap but yet so tasty.
- serves 4
- cook time 20 mintues
- 1/2 cup - beer flavorful
- 1 teaspoon - black pepper
- 1 package - bratwurst
- 1 teaspoon - butter
- 4 cloves - garlic minced in jar
- 1 package - hoagie buns
- 1 teaspoon - kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon - olive oil
- 1 whole - red bell pepper
- 1 whole - red onion
- 1 tablespoon - red pepper flakes
- 4 tablespoon - spicy brown mustard
- 1 whole - yellow bell pepper
Slice the peppers and onions into thin strips
Grill the brats on the grill or a grill pan
While the brats are grilling, in a sauce pan add the onions, peppers olive oil, butter and garlic cook over medium low heat.
In about 3 minutes pour in the beer and season with the red chili flakes, kosher salt, and pepper.
Let the pepper mixture simmer and reduce.
Set the brats aside when they are finished cooking
Split and Toast the hoagie buns
Assemble the sandwich by putting the mustard on the bun, with the brat, and then add some of the peppers.
